How To Make Sauteed Steaks with Red Wine and Peppers
This 30-minute sauteed steaks meal yields a flavorful dish that’s cooked in acidic red wine, and tossed with tender bell peppers!

Ingredients
- 4tbspolive oil
- 1large onion
- 1½tspdried oregano
- 1large garlic clove
- 1red bell pepper
- 1green bell pepper
- 4top chuck steaks,(about 2 lbs in all)
- 1tspsalt
- ¾tspfresh ground black pepper
- ¾cupred wine
Instructions

Heat 2 tablespoons of the oil in a medium frying pan over moderately low heat. Stir in the onion, oregano, garlic, and bell peppers. Cook, covered, for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are soft.

In a large stainless-steel frying pan, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of the oil over moderately high heat. Season the steaks with ½ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper.

Put the steaks in the hot pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until browned. Turn and cook for 3 to 4 minutes longer, until done to medium rare. Remove.

Add the bell-pepper mixture, the wine, and the remaining ½ teaspoon each salt and black pepper to the large frying pan. Boil for about 5 minutes, until the wine is completely absorbed.

Serve the steak topped with the vegetables, and enjoy!
