Sautéed Salmon with Whiskey Sauce Recipe

Sautéed Salmon with Whiskey Sauce Recipe

Try a deliciously grown-up preparation for those salmon fillets.

Prep: 5 mins
Cook: 15 mins
Total: 20 mins
Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 salmon fillet , 12 oz (or two 6 oz fillets)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/4 cup Irish whiskey
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh tarragon, minced
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • lime wedges

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium-sized skillet. Add in shallot and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.

  2. Season the salmon with salt and pepper for flavor. Then sauté the salmon for 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  3. Remove the salmon and plate (the salmon won't be completely cooked yet at this point). Add the whiskey, vinegar, and tarragon to the skillet and simmer for 1 minute.

  4. Add in the whipping cream and season the salmon with salt and pepper. Return the salmon to the skillet and cover and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side. Then divide the salmon in half.

  5. After dividing the salmon, arrange each half on 2 plates. Afterward, top them with sauce and serve them with lime wedges on the side. Enjoy!
