Grab a mouthwatering bite of this grilled cheese sandwich made with a spread of guacamole and Havarti cheese in browned buttered toasts.

  • 2ripe avocados,halved and pitted
  • ½small onion,minced
  • 1tbspfresh lime juice
  • 1jalapeno pepper,seeded and minced
  • 2tbspfresh cilantro,chopped
  • 1clovegarlic,minced
  • ½tspkosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper,to taste
  • 1Roma tomato,finely chopped
  • 4Texas toast slices
  • 4Havarti cheese slices
  • 2tspbutter,or to taste


  1. Mash avocados in a large bowl. Add onion, lime juice, jalapeno, cilantro, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Stir tomato into the guacamole.

  2. Spread desired amount of guacamole over 2 bread slices. Top each with 2 slices of Havarti cheese. Cover with the remaining 2 slices of bread, then butter the outside.

  3. Heat a skillet to medium-high heat. Cook sandwiches for 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown on the bottom. Flip and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more until the other side is browned.
