The crunch from the tortilla chips adds a nice texture to this taco salad. Mix in fresh tomatoes, lettuce, avocadoes, and cheese for a flavorful dish.

For Beef:

  • 1lblean beefground
  • 1pkgtaco seasoningor homemade
  • 1cupblack beansdrained and rinsed

For Salad:

  • 6cupsromaine lettuce
  • 1cuptomatoeschopped
  • 1cupcheddar cheeseshredded
  • 1pcavocadodiced
  • 1cuptortilla chips
  • ½cupsalsa
  • ½cupsour cream
  • 2ozolives
  • 2ozbell peppers
  • 2ozjalapenos
  • 2ozonion


  1. Brown beef over medium heat until no pink remains and drain the fat.

  2. Add taco seasoning and ½ cup water. Simmer 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir in beans.

  3. Place lettuce in a large bowl. Top with meat, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, and toppings.

  4. Top each serving with tortilla chips, salsa, and sour cream.
