Nothing like homemade croutons to add to a salad or casserole. I used them in a zucchini casserole.


How To Make Homemade Croutons

A incredible way to bring stale bread back to life! You'd never have to waste stale bread ever again with this quick and simple homemade croutons recipe. A wonderful addition to soups and salads, or even your main course meal with this herbed and seasoned croutons.

Ingredients

  • 3 reduced-fat hot dog buns, stale, or hamburger buns
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, freshly shredded
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic salt , or powder
  • butter flavored cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Cube stale buns.
  3. Spray foil with butter flavored cooking spray.
  4. Spread bread crumbs out flat and spray again with cooking spray.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients (oregano, salt, pepper, and garlic powder) together then shake on top of bread crumbs evenly.
  6. Then spread Parmesan cheese on top of that and broil for 5 minutes.
