How To Make Tilapia with Cilantro-Lemon Butter

Our light and tasty tilapia recipe is topped with a savory cilantro-lemon butter for a richer meal! Whip this up for dinner in just 15 minutes.

Total: 15 minutes



  • ½tspsalt
  • ½tspground cumin
  • ½tsppaprika
  • ¼tspground red pepper
  • 6oztilapia fillets,(4 fillets)
  • 1tbspolive oil

For Cilantro-Lemon Butter:

  • 3tbspbutter,softened
  • 3tbspfresh cilantro,finely chopped
  • 1tsplemon rind,grated
  • ½tsppaprika
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 1lemon,quartered


Cilantro-Lemon Butter:

  1. Simply combine the butter, cilantro, lemon rind, paprika, and salt together in a bowl. Use a spoon to stir and mash until blended.


  1. Combine the salt, cumin, paprika, and ground red pepper in a bowl, then sprinkle them over both sides of the fish.

  2. Lightly coat the fish with cooking spray.

  3. Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add the fish, then cook 3 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.

  5. Place the fish on a serving platter, then top with a dollop of cilantro-lemon butter.

  6. Serve with a lemon wedge, to be squeezed on top of the fish, and enjoy!
