How To Make Easy Teriyaki Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1tbspoil
  • 1lbshrimp,large, peeled and deveined with tails on, if desired
  • 1clovegarlic,minced
  • ½tspginger,minced
  • ¼cuplow sodium soy sauce
  • cupwater
  • 3tbspbrown sugar
  • 1tbsprice wine vinegar
  • 1tspsesame oil
  • 1tspcornstarch
  • 1tbspwater
  • green onions for garnish,if desired
  • sesame seeds for garnish,if desired

Instructions

  1. Add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, vinegar and sesame oil to a medium saucepan.

  2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. In a small bowl whisk together cornstarch and water.

  4. Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan.

  5. Simmer whisking constantly until sauce has thickened up.

  6. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large skillet.

  7. Add shrimp and saute until fully cooked.

  8. Add teriyaki sauce to the shrimp and stir to coat.

  9. Serve immediately with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
