How To Make Salsa Verde Burgers

No need to cheat on your diet when you can have your burger healthy! Savor the taste of lean beef patties with salsa verde, avocado, and pepper jack cheese.

  • Cooking spray
  • pinchkosher salt and pepper,to taste
  • 4beef patties,93% lean, 4.75 oz each
  • ½cupsalsa verde,homemade or store bought
  • 4slicesSargento pepper jack cheese,reduced fat
  • 4whole wheat potato buns,100 calorie
  • ¼cupred cabbage,or lettuce, shredded
  • 4ozavocado,sliced from 1 medium haas


  1. Heat a skillet or grill over high heat. When hot, spray with oil and add the patties.

  2. Season with salt and pepper and cook a few minutes on each side, to the desired liking.

  3. Add the cheese and cover; cook to melt for about 30 seconds.

  4. Place the cooked burgers on the buns and top each burger with 2 tablespoons of salsa verde, red cabbage, and avocado slices.
