How To Make Corn and Rice with Tomato Sauce
Pair your steaks with a bowl of this savory corn and rice! It’s simmered in a seasoned tomato sauce, bacon, and bell peppers for a filling meal.

Ingredients
- 1bacon slice,chopped
- ½onion,chopped
- ¼green bell pepper,chopped
- ½tspfresh thyme,chopped
- ½cuptomato sauce
- 1tspbrowning sauce
- 1tspsalt
- ½tspground black pepper
- pinchred pepper flakes
- 14ozwhole kernel corn,(2 cans), drained
- 3½cupswater
- 2cupswhite rice
Instructions

Cook the bacon in a large saucepan over medium heat until the grease begins to render. Stir in the onion, bell pepper, and thyme, then cook until the onion is nearly translucent.

Reduce the heat to medium-low, then add the tomato sauce, browning sauce, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for another 3 minutes.

Add the corn and simmer for another 3 minutes. Slowly pour the water into the mixture while stirring.

Raise the heat to high, then stir in the rice. Bring to a boil, cover, then reduce heat to low.

Simmer for 30 minutes until the rice has absorbed all the moisture.

Fluff the corn and rice with a fork, serve, and enjoy!
