Mild Crockpot Chili Recipe

Make this mild crockpot chili recipe whenever you’re hosting a group of friends over. Serve it with a side of crusty bread for dipping. If you like it a little spicier, you can add jalapenos and/or more chili powder.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 24 oz diced tomatoes, two 14 oz cans, undrained
  • 15 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 15 oz canned red kidney beans, canned, rinsed and drained
  • 15 oz canned black beans, canned, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet until completely cooked, then drain.

  2. Put all the ingredients except the cornstarch and water into the crockpot.

  3. Stir, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours.

  4. During the last 15 minutes of cooking, combine the cornstarch and water in a bowl.

  5. Mix until smooth and add it to the crockpot. Stir well. Serve once done cooking.
