How To Make Make-Ahead Apple Butter French Toast Casserole

You can make a tasty and filling breakfast for your whole family with this casserole recipe. It is easy to make and you can make this ahead too.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups bread, cubed (Italian and sourdough works best)
  • 7 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup apple butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, for topping

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into 1” cubes. Crusty bread works best.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and apple butter.

  3. Place the bread in a baking dish and pour the egg mixture over it.

  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  5. In the morning, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F uncovered and top with brown sugar.

  6. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Serve with maple syrup, honey, or more apple butter.
