How To Make Barbecued Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Sweet and umami-rich flavors are apparent in this barbecued teriyaki pork that’s made with pork tenderloin marinated in teriyaki sauce and onion.

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 6 minutes
Marinate Time: 4 hours
Total: 4 hours 16 minutes



  • 2pork tenderloin,(1 pound each), cut in 4 to 5 pieces each
  • 2cups*teriyaki sauce,(see Recipe Notes for recipe), ensure it’s thick sauce
  • 2large onions,sliced
  • 2green onions,sliced, optional
  • sesame seeds,for garnish, optional


  1. Cut each pork tenderloin into 4 to 5 pieces, pound pork pieces until ½-inch thick.

  2. Marinate pork medallions in teriyaki sauce and onion slices for 4 to 6 hours.

  3. Preheat grill to high. Grill the Pork Medallions on high for 3 to 4 minutes per side.

  4. If desired, place onions on a grill tray and grill for 5 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally.  

  5. Sprinkle pork with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

  6. Serve and enjoy.
