How To Make Taco Pie

This taco pie serves a meaty tasty dish with a buttery crust that’s topped with seasoned beef, salsa, and refried beans for a flavorful Mexican-style meal.

Ingredients

For Crust:

  • ¼cupbutter,chopped
  • 3slicesAmerican Cheese
  • 1cupflour
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 2tbspwater

For Filling:

  • 1lbground beef
  • ½cuponion,chopped
  • ½cupsalsa
  • 1refried beans
  • 1taco seasoning
  • 6slicesAmerican Cheese

For Toppings:

  • 1cuplettuce,shredded
  • 1tomato,chopped
  • sour cream,to taste
  • cheese,shredded

Instructions

Crust:

  1. Combine crust ingredients except water in food processor bowl.

  2. Pulse until the mixture creates coarse crumbles. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball.

  3. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Place into a 9-inch pie plate, and trim the sides.

  4. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 to 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Filling:

  1. Cook onions and beef in a medium skillet until beef is browned and cooked through. Drain if watery.

  2. Return beef to skillet, add salsa, and taco seasoning. Cook until bubbly.

  3. Pour into baked crust. Top with refried beans, and cheese.

  4. Bake for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

  5. Let cool. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and more cheese.

  6. Serve and enjoy.
