How To Make Cinnamon Apple French Toast Casserole

Start the fall season right with this cinnamon apple French toast casserole, made with challah, half & half, and milk, then topped with a crumbly streusel.

For French Toast:

  • 16ozchallah bread,(1 loaf) day old cubes
  • 6eggs
  • 1cuphalf and half
  • 1cupwhole milk,or 2%
  • ½cupgranulated sugar
  • 2tspvanilla
  • 1tspcinnamon
  • 3apples,peeled and sliced thin

For Streusel:

  • cupbrown sugar
  • cupflour
  • 1tspcinnamon
  • ¼cupbutter cold,diced

For Toppings:

  • powdered sugar
  • maple syrup


French Toast:

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix the the eggs, cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon together. Set aside.

  2. Grease the pan and then place ½ of the bread cubes in the bottom. Layer with ½ the sliced apples and pour about a ⅓ of the egg mixture over it.

  3. Repeat again with the remaining bread, apples, and mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight or for at least 4 hours.

  4. Take the casserole out of the fridge and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.


  1. Mix the brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon together. Cut in the butter until crumbly.

  2. Sprinkle on top of the toast and bake for 45 to 55 minutes. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.

  3. Serve with powdered sugar and maple syrup. Enjoy!
