How To Make Chuletas

This chuletas recipe serves juicy and tender Puerto Rican, fried bone-in pork chops, that are pan-seared and baked, for a scrumptious dish.

Prep: 5 mins
Marinate: 30 mins
Cook: 15 mins
Total: 50 mins

  • 4 porterhouse pork chops
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 tsp Adobo seasoning
  • 2 tsp oregano

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In a small bowl combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil, white vinegar, adobo, crushed garlic, and oregano. Mix the seasonings until well combined.
  3. Season both sides of each pork chop generously with the mixture. Set aside on a plate covered with plastic wrap for 30 minutes. This will allow the chops to come to room temperature and marinade.
  4. Into a large oven-safe frying pan, heat remaining oil over medium-high heat. When the oil beings to shimmer, add the pork chops. Sear them on both sides for about 2 minutes or until nicely browned.

  5. Transfer the skillet to a 350 degrees F oven and cook for 10 minutes or until the chops reach 145 degrees. Let the pork chops rest for 3 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
