How To Make Breakfast Strata with Sausage and Mushrooms
This mouthwatering make-ahead breakfast casserole is made with wheat bread, savory sausage, cheese, and mushrooms for a delicious way to start your day.

Ingredients
- 8ozwheat ciabatta bread,cut into 1-inch cubes
- 12ozturkey breakfast sausage
- 2cupsfat-free milk
- 1½cupreduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese,(4 oz), shredded
- 10large eggs
- ½cupgreen onions,chopped
- 1cupmushrooms,sliced
- ½tsppaprika
- 1tspkosher salt
- 2tbspgrated parmesan cheese
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Arrange bread cubes on a baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for about 8 minutes or until toasted.

Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage to pan; cook for about 7 minutes or until browned, stirring to crumble.

Combine milk, cheese, eggs, parmesan cheese, paprika, salt and pepper in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk.

Add bread, sausage, scallions, and mushrooms, tossing well to coat the bread. Spoon mixture into a 13×9-inch baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for about 8 hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Uncover casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 minutes or until set and lightly browned.

Cut into 8 pieces then serve immediately.
