How To Make Mediterranean Ground Lamb Pita Sandwich

Juicy ground lamb in a warm pita filled with fresh veggies and creamy tzatziki sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • Tzatziki sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground lamb over medium heat until browned.

  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, and paprika to the skillet and continue to cook for 5 minutes, or until the onions have softened.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Warm pita breads in the oven.

  5. To assemble, fill each pita bread with the ground lamb mixture.

  6. Top with chopped tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, fresh parsley, and mint.

  7. Drizzle tzatziki sauce over the top of each sandwich.
