How To Make Italian-Style Ground Lamb Bolognese Recipe
A hearty tomato-based sauce with ground lamb, perfect for topping any pasta dish.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground lamb
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 1 can (28 oz.) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup red wine
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 lb. pasta, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown the ground lamb over medium heat.

Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery, and cook until the vegetables are soft and the meat is browned.

Add the bay leaf, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes, and cook until fragrant.

Add the crushed tomatoes and red wine, and bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until thickened and the flavors have melded together.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over cooked pasta.
