How To Make Gluten-Free Baked Ziti Recipe
A tasty gluten-free version of classic baked ziti, made with hearty pasta, flavorful tomato sauce, and creamy ricotta cheese.

Ingredients
- 10 oz gluten-free ziti pasta
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.

Cook the ziti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant.

Add crushed tomatoes and oregano to the pan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Simmer tomato sauce for 10-15 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Add cooked ziti to the tomato sauce and stir to combine.

In a small bowl, whisk together ricotta cheese and egg until smooth.

Spoon half of the pasta into the greased baking dish. Dollop teaspoons of the ricotta mixture on top of the pasta.

Add the remaining pasta over the ricotta drops, and dollop with remaining ricotta mixture.

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.

Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.
