  • 1 cup macadamia nuts (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add egg and vanilla extract, mix well.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together whole-wheat flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

  5. Gradually add dry mixture to butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

  6. Fold in chopped macadamia nuts.

  7. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto a lined baking sheet.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

  9. Cool cookies on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
