How To Make Mackerel Fish Cakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of mackerel in oil, drained
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking oil spray

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, flake the mackerel and mix with breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, lemon juice, egg, salt, and pepper.

  2. Form the mixture into balls and flatten them slightly to form patties.

  3. Spray a non-stick pan with cooking oil spray and heat over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the fish cakes for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  5. Serve hot with a side of tartar sauce, if desired.
