How To Make Double Lemongrass Iced Tea

Brimming with antioxidants and vitamins, quench your thirst with a glass of this lemongrass iced tea; which combines lemongrass stalks and rich white tea!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • basic simple syrup
  • 10lemongrass stalks
  • 8cupscold water
  • 8white tea bags
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Prepare the basic simple syrup as directed, adding ½ of the chopped lemongrass, before bringing it to a boil. Remove from the heat and let steep for 30 minutes.

  2. Strain the lemongrass syrup into a large measuring cup.

  3. In a large saucepan, combine the remaining chopped lemongrass with the cold water and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and let stand for 1 hour.

  4. Bring the lemongrass tea back to a boil.

  5. Remove from the heat and add the tea bags, then let steep for 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until chilled.

  6. Pour the lemongrass tea into a pitcher and stir in ½ cup of the lemongrass syrup, or more to taste, then refrigerate the rest for later use.

  7. Serve in 8 tall glasses over ice. Garnish with a lemongrass stalk. Enjoy!
