Classic Iced Tea Recipe

Use your favorite breakfast tea or a fruit or herbal blend for this simple recipe.


Pair your afternoon snacks with a refreshing classic iced tea

Ingredients

  • 8 tea bags, tags removed
  • Ice cubes
  • granulated sugar, optional , or superfine sugar
  • lemon slices, optional, thin

Instructions

  1. In 3 quart saucepan, heat 4 cup cold water to boiling over high heat.

  2. Remove saucepan from heat and stir in teabags.

  3. Cover and let stand 5 minutes to brew. Stir tea.

  4. Remove tea bags and pour tea into 2 ½ quart pitcher with 4 cups cold water.

  5. Cover and let stand until ready to serve. (Do not refrigerate or tea will become cloudy. If this happens, add boiling water, gradually, until tea clears).

  6. To serve, pour tea over ice cubes in tall glasses.

  7. Serve with sugar and lemon slices if you like.
  8. Makes about 8 cups.
