How To Make Butterfly Tea

Fascinate both your eyes and tastebuds with this mood-enhancing butterfly tea or blue tea! Its earthy hint is mixed with Sprite for a refreshing mix.

Total: 15 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

For Concentrate:

  • 1cupbutterfly pea flower,dry or fresh
  • 4cupsdrinking water
  • 1tbsphoney
  • 2tbspbrown sugar

For Assembling:

  • 2lime
  • Sprite,(1 can) or 1 bottle of soda water

Instructions

Concentrate:

  1. Boil the water in a saucepan.

  2. If using fresh flowers then while waiting for the water to boil, prepare the Butterfly Pea Flowers by cutting the green bottoms off. If using dried flowers use them as they come.

  3. When the water has boiled, turn off the gas and tip in the flowers, and put the lid on the saucepan. Allow to sit for 5 minutes without further heating.

  4. Strain the tea concentrate into a jug.

  5. Whilst still warm, add the honey and brown sugar and stir to dissolve.

To Assemble:

  1. Pour about ⅓ of the tea concentrate into a glass with ice and add 2 teaspoons of lime juice and the blue color will turn to purple like magic.

  2. Top up with sprite.

  3. Serve and enjoy!
