How To Make Smoky Apple Cider Mezcal Margarita
This mezcal margarita recipe is an ideal drink this fall. Using only three ingredients, it creates a marvelous blend of smoky, sweet, and tart.

Ingredients
For Margarita:
- 2ozmezcal
- 2ozapple ciderhomemade or store-bought
- 1ozlime juicefreshly-squeezed
- applesdiced (Optional garnish)
- cinnamon stick(Optional garnish)
For Salt Rim Garnish:
- 1Tbspcoarse kosher salt
- 1Tbspsugargranulated or brown
- 1tspground ginger
- 1lime
Instructions
Margarita:

Begin by salting the rims of your glasses, if desired.

Add mezcal, apple cider, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker, and shake or stir until combined.

Fill glass with ice. Pour in the margarita mixture over the rocks.

Serve immediately, garnished with diced apples and a cinnamon stick, if desired.
Salt rim garnish:

Whisk together the salt, sugar, and ground ginger in a shallow bowl until combined.

Run a slice of lime around the top edge of your glass, then dip it in the ginger mixture.
Recipe Notes
If you want the mixture to be sweeter, stir in ½ teaspoon of maple syrup or agave nectar at a time, until the mix reaches your desired level of sweetness.
