How To Make Frozen Siesta Cocktail

Blanco tequila, simple syrup, Campari, and citrus juice are blended together to make this frozen siesta cocktail serve in a salt-rimmed glass.

Ingredients

For the Simple Syrup:

  • water
  • cupsugar

For the Cocktail:

  • 4ozblanco tequila
  • ozsimple syrup,(1:1) chilled
  • ozCampari
  • ozfresh lime juice
  • ozfresh grapefruit juice
  • 3cupsice
  • lime wedge,plus 2 tbsp kosher salt, for rimming the glass

Instructions

  1. To make the simple syrup, mix warm water and sugar in a small mason jar. Seal well and shake until completely dissolved.

  2. Refrigerate until well chilled, and up to 1 week.

  3. Combine tequila, chilled simple syrup, Campari, lime juice, and grapefruit juice in a resealable container.

  4. Seal well and place in freezer for at least 4 hours, and up to 1 day.

  5. Place kosher salt on a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rims of 2 rocks glasses, then dip the rims in salt. Place glasses in the freezer to chill.

  6. When ready to serve, add the chilled cocktail mix and 3 cups of ice to a blender. Process for about 25 seconds until smooth.

  7. Pour into rimmed glasses and serve immediately. Enjoy!
