Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Carolina rice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 ½ qt whole milk
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg, add 1 more if desired
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Nutmeg , to sprinkle on top
Instructions

Add rice, sugar, milk and salt in a double boiler.

Cook uncovered for approximately 2 hours, after 15 minutes. Stir frequently so the rice doesn't clump. Take off the stove.

Beat egg and fold in the mixture with the vanilla extract. Put in a large bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Cover and refrigerate until cool and firm before serving.
