How To Make Bourbon Cherry Crisp

This cherry crisp can be on your table in just an hour! Made with bourbon-infused cherries for a sweet filling and brown sugar for a flaky streusel topping.

Ingredients

For Filling:

  • 5cupscherries,halved pitted
  • ½cupgranulated sugar
  • 3tbspcornstarch
  • 3tbspbourbon
  • ½tsppure vanilla extract

For Topping:

  • ½cupbrown sugar,packed light or dark
  • 6tbspall-purpose flour
  • ½tspground cinnamon
  • 6tbspunsalted butter,very cold and cubed
  • cupold-fashioned whole rolled oats
  • almonds,handful of slivered/chopped/sliced, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9-inch round or square baking dish.

  2. Mix all of the filling ingredients together in a large bowl, then spread into the baking dish.

Topping:

  1. Whisk the brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon together in a medium bowl. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture is crumbly. Fold in the oats and almonds. Sprinkle over filling.

  2. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit juices are bubbling around the edges. Remove from the oven, place on a wire rack, and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

  3. Serve room temperature or cold and enjoy.
