How To Make Bran Muffins
Have a soft delightful treat with these bran muffins baked with buttermilk, raisin and whole bran cereal. Whip up a batch in 30 minutes!

Ingredients
- 2cupsraisin bran cereal
- 4cupswhole bran cereal
- 2cupsboiling water
- 1cupshortening
- 3cupswhite sugar
- 4eggs
- 4cupsbuttermilk
- 5cupsall purpose flour
- 5tspbaking soda
- 1½tspsalt
Instructions

Mix cereal and boiling water together in a metal bowl, and allow to cool.

Cream shortening, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl. Add buttermilk and cooled cereal mixture.

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until flour is moistened. The batter should be lumpy.

Put batter into a 1-gallon wide mouth jar. When using a mix, use a ladle to get the batter out of the jar. Don’t mix or stir.

When ready to use, spoon batter into muffin tins. Bake at 375 degrees F for approximately 15 minutes.
