Watermelon Sailboats Recipe

A wonderful recipe that’s not only tasty but also an eye-catcher! This recipe shows you how to create these cute little sailboats out of watermelon but that’s not all. Combining watermelon and blueberries is simply delicious and add to that the subtle crunch from cereals.

Ingredients

  • 1 watermelon
  • 1 qt fresh blueberries
  • 2 cups Grape Nuts or similar cereal

Instructions

  1. Cut a 3x3 inch square log about 6x8-inch long from the center of the watermelon by cutting off the sides and end.
  2. Slice the log in ¾-inch thick squares.
  3. Cut square diagonally to form right triangles.
  4. Puree the blueberries.
  5. Spread the puree on a serving plate to imitate water.
  6. Sprinkle the cereal on the edge of the plate to act as the land.
  7. Place the triangles upright like sailboats on the water.
