A delightful way to serve up tasty apples! A cinnamon caramel sauce slowly simmered down with the apples added after creates tasty cinnamon apples with a tender texture but still with a delectable crunch.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup cinnamon candies
  • 6 apples, Jonathan apples are best, peeled, cored, and sliced

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and candies in a saucepan.
  2. Heat to dissolve candies and sugar.
  3. Add apples.
  4. Simmer slowly, covered, for 30 minutes.
  5. Uncover and simmer for 1 more hour.
  6. Syrup will thicken more as it cools.
