How To Make Apple Pecan Crisp

Easy and delicious, this apple pecan crisp is simply crunchy apples and pecans mixed with a sweet and buttery cinnamon crumb topping.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 6cupsgranny smith apples,sliced
  • cupwhite sugar
  • 1tbspflour
  • ½tspcinnamon
  • ½tspginger
  • 1cuppecans,chopped, divided
  • 2tbsplemon juice

For Crisp Topping:

  • ½cupflour
  • ½cupold fashioned oats
  • ½cuplight brown sugar
  • ½cupsugar
  • ½tspcinnamon
  • ¼tspnutmeg
  • ½cupbutter,chopped into pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a large bowl whisk together sugar, flour, cinnamon, ginger and half a cup pecans. Add the apples and coat. Add the lemon juice and toss until coated. Spread apples evenly in the dish.

Crumb Topping:

  1. In a medium sized bowl mix flour, sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the bowl. Add the butter and using a pastry blender or fork mix until coarse crumbs form.

  2. Stir in half a cup pecans. Sprinkle on top of apples.

  3. Bake for 40 minutes or until apples are tender and top is lightly brown.
