Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

How To Make Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Peanut butter rice Krispie treats with a chocolate layer filled with cocoa Krispies cereal, marshmallows, and more chocolate chips to satisfy your cravings.

Ingredients

For the Peanut Butter Layer:

  • cupsrice Krispies cereal
  • 2tbspunsalted butter
  • ½cupcreamy peanut butter
  • 2cupsminiature marshmallows,approximately half of a 10 ounces package
  • 1cupmini reese’s peanut butter cups,or chopped regular or fun sized reese’s peanut butter cups

For the Chocolate Layer:

  • cupscocoa krispies cereal
  • 2tbspunsalted butter
  • 2cupsminiature marshmallows,approximately half of a 10 ounces package
  • 1cupsemi sweet chocolate chips,or milk chocolate/white chocolate

Instructions

  1. Line an 11×7-inch baking pan with aluminum foil/parchment paper. Generously spray with nonstick spray. Set aside.

  2. Melt the butter and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low to medium heat.  Add the marshmallows and constantly stir until they are completely melted.

  3. The mixture will be thick. Remove from heat and add in Rice Krispie cereal. Mix together well. Press mixture into prepared baking pan.

  4. Top peanut butter layer with mini Reese’s cups. Set baking pan aside.

  5. Melt the butter in the same large saucepan over low to medium heat. Add the marshmallows and constantly stir until they are completely melted.

  6. Remove from heat and add in Cocoa Krispies cereal. Mix together well. Press mixture on top of the peanut butter layer. Press chocolate chips on top of the chocolate layer and allow to set for at least 30 minutes.

  7. Cut into 24 squares.
