How To Make Whole Wheat Cut Out Cookies

Made healthy with whole wheat flour and naturally sweet with honey, these cut out cookies are packed with gentle flavors and a crunchy cracker-like texture.

  • 4cupswhole wheat flour
  • 2tspbaking powder
  • 1cupbutter
  • 1cuphoney
  • 1egg,beaten
  • cuphot water


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In a large bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour and baking powder.

  3. Cut in the butter with a pastry tool or pinch in by hand until the butter lumps are no larger than peas.

  4. Add the honey, egg, and water, then mix until the dough comes together into a ball.

  5. Roll out the dough to ¼-inch to ⅛-inch thickness. Cut into squares or with a cookie cutter.

  6. Place the doughs a 1-inch space apart on the cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until edges are light brown.
