Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter with an electric mixer to form a grainy paste.

  4. Add eggnog, vanilla and egg yolks. Beat at medium speed until smooth.

  5. Add the dry ingredients and beat at low speed just until combined. Do not over-mix.

  6. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets, 1" apart. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.

  7. Bake for 23-25 minutes or until the bottoms turn light brown.

  8. Transfer to a cool, flat surface immediately with a spatula to cool down before serving.
