How To Make Fruit-Filled Cream Cheese Cookies

These cream cheese cookies have cheese incorporated into the dough, giving them a light texture that goes perfectly with the sweet and juicy fruit jam.

Ingredients

  • 8ozcream cheese,(1 package), softened
  • ½cupbutter,softened
  • ½cupshortening
  • 2cupsall purpose flour
  • ½cupfruit jam,(any flavor)

Instructions

  1. Place cream cheese in a mixing bowl, and beat til light and fluffy. Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the fruit preserves, and form into a flat disk. Chill overnight.

  2. Roll dough out onto a lightly floured board, and cut circles using a medium sized glass.

  3. In the center of each circle, add ½ teaspoon of preserves; crimp edges tightly together.

  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 to 17 minutes.
