How To Make Easy Buckeye Bars

The traditionally made Ohio buckeye bars are smooth with a majority nutty taste from the peanut butter and with a crunchy chocolate topping.

Ingredients

  • cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  • 2cupscreamy peanut butter
  • ½cupmargarine,melted
  • ½cupbrown sugar
  • ½tspvanilla extract
  • 12ozbag chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Grease a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan.

  2. Mix confectioners’ sugar, peanut butter, margarine, brown sugar, and vanilla together in a bowl.

  3. Press peanut butter mixture into the prepared pan.

  4. Melt chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides with a rubber spatula to avoid scorching.

  5. Pour melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer.

  6. Let buckeye bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
