  • ¾cupsugar
  • ½cupbutter,softened not melted
  • 2tbspbutter-flavored shortening
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 1egg
  • 1tbsplight corn syrup
  • 1tspvanilla
  • 1tspalmond extract
  • 2cupsflour
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • ½tspbaking soda


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixer, cream sugar, butter, shortening, and salt until light and fluffy.

  3. Add egg, corn syrup, vanilla and almond extract and beat until well mixed.

  4. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add to wet ingredients.

  5. Scoop and roll into balls. Pat down balls a bit. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool until warm.

Almond Frosting:

  1. Mix 1 cup powdered sugar, ½ tsp. almond extract and a few tablespoons of milk.

  2. Drizzle frosting over warm cookies. Add sprinkles if desired.
