How To Make Beer Cookies

It might seem strange, but the beer in these beer cookies lends some nice softness and chewiness to these treats. The walnuts add a nice crunch too!

  • 2cupsall-purpose flour
  • ½tspbaking soda
  • ½cupbrown sugar,packed
  • 1tspground cinnamon
  • ½cupbutter
  • cupsbeer,room temperature
  • ½cupwalnuts,chopped


  1. Cream together the butter or margarine and the brown sugar. Cut in flour, baking soda and spice. Blend in beer slowly to form a soft dough.

  2. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls and top with a walnut piece.

  3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes at a 350 degree F oven until lightly brown. Cool 1 minute on a cookie sheet and move to wire rack.
