For Filling:

  • 12ozblackberries
  • 1lbstrawberries,(16 oz)
  • ½tbspcornstarch
  • 2tbspsugar

For Cobbler Topping:

  • ½cupwhole wheat pastry flour,plus 2 tbsp, or regular whole wheat flour
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • 3tbspbrown sugar
  • dashsalt
  • 1small egg
  • ¼cupbuttermilk
  • tbspbutter,melted and cooled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Chop the berries into large chunks.

  3. Gently mix the blackberries, strawberries, corn starch, and sugar together in a bowl.

  4. In a larger bowl, mix the pastry flour, baking powder, brown sugar, and salt.

  5. Whisk the egg, buttermilk and butter together in a separate bowl, then pour them into the bowl of dry ingredients.

  6. Stir the mixture until just blended.

  7. Spoon the fruit mixture into the ramekins, then top with the dough.

  8. Place the ramekins on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any potential drips.

  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
