Peeps Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

 

Delight kids with these peeps rice Krispie treats for Easter goodies. The chewy rice Krispie bars are topped with adorable marshmallow peeps.

Ingredients

  • 10 oz miniature marshmallows
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 5 cups rice krispie cereal
  • 1 cup speckled eggs, such as M&Ms
  • ½ cup white melting wafers , such as Ghirardelli or Wilton's, melted
  • 9 peeps

Instructions

  1. Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. In a large microwave safe bowl, heat the marshmallows and butter in the microwave for 90 seconds. Stir until marshmallows are melted and smooth.
  3. Add the cereal. Use a large spatula to mix until all the cereal is coated in the marshmallow mixture. Gently fold in the M&Ms.
  4. Press the krispie mixture into the lined baking dish gently until level.
  5. Let cool for at least 30 minutes. Once the marshmallow has cooled and set, cut the Krispies into 9 squares.

  6. Drizzle the melted white wafers over each of the krispie treats and top with a Peep. Allow candy to cool and harden before serving or packaging.
  7. Serve and enjoy.
