M&M Cookie Cake Recipe

How To Make M&M Cookie Cake

Sugar cookie dough is the base of this cookie cake. It also comes brimming with M&M pieces and decorated with some chocolate-infused buttercream frosting.

For Dough:

  • ½cupsalted butter
  • ¾cupgranulated sugar
  • 1large egg
  • 1egg yolk
  • cupall purpose flour
  • 1tbspcornstarch
  • 1tspbaking powder
  • ½tspbaking soda
  • ¼tspsalt
  • ¾cupm&m’s
  • ¼cupmini m&m’s

For Frosting:

  • 4tbspbutter
  • tbspcocoa powder
  • cupspowdered sugar
  • ½tspvanilla
  • 1tbspmilk
  • M&M’s
  • sprinkles



    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9-inch pie dish.

    2. Beat butter for 2 minutes until smooth. Mix in sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg, yolk, and vanilla until smooth, creamy, and light in color.

    3. Add the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and mix until combined.

    4. Mix in the m&m’s by hand until evenly distributed.

    5. Spread dough in the greased pie dish. Bake for 23 to 26 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pie dish and frosting.

    6. Beat butter and cocoa powder together. Mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Add the milk as needed to get desired consistency.

    7. Place frosting in a piping bag with an M1 tip and decorate the cookie cake. Immediately add the M&M’s and sprinkles.
