Brownie Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

How To Make Brownie Strawberry Shortcake

Layers of chocolate cake sandwich a vanilla and cream frosting and slices of fresh strawberries to make this strawberry shortcake recipe.

  • 2boxespre made brownie mix
  • 4large eggs
  • cupcanola oil
  • ¼cupwater
  • 1cupheavy whipping cream
  • 2tbspvanilla instant pudding mix
  • 3cupsstrawberries,sliced


  1. Preheat the oven according to the brownie packing.

  2. Grease 2 8-inch cake pans with butter or cooking spray.

  3. In a stand mixer with the whisk attachment combine brownie mix, eggs, oil and water.

  4. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake according to the box instructions.

  5. Let cool on wire racks, then turn out of the pans.

  6. Meanwhile add the heavy cream to a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Whip cream on high speed until peaks form.

  7. Reduce the speed to medium, add the pudding mix, then increase the speed again to high and whip until stiff peaks form. Store in the fridge until ready to assemble cake.

To Assemble:

  1. Place 1 layer of the brownie cake on a cake serving plate. Top with half of the whipped cream.

  2. Layer half of the strawberries on top of the cream. Place the second cake layer on top of the strawberries and repeat.

  3. Slice and serve immediately.
