How To Make Puppy Chow Brownies

These chewy brownies now have a crunchy accent thanks to puppy chow toppings which adds to the overall texture. Drizzle some rich, hot fudge on top as well!

Ingredients

  • 12tbspsalted butter
  • cupsgranulated sugar
  • cupcocoa powder
  • 1tsppure vanilla extract
  • 3largeeggs
  • 1cupflour
  • 2cupsfrozen puppy chow,plus extra for serving
  • hot fudge sauce,for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8×8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray, or line with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. Heat the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat until melted. Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Stir well. Remove pan from heat and whisk in the cocoa powder.

  3. In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the eggs. Continue whisking while pouring the chocolate mixture into the bowl. Whisk until combined. Stir in the flour and frozen puppy chow until just combined.

  4. Pour batter into the previously prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.

  5. Cool on a wire rack. Then cut the brownies into squares or use a biscuit/cookie cutter to shape them into circles. Plate each brownie, then top with hot fudge sauce and additional puppy chow. Serve immediately.
