Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- 1¼ cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- ½ cup vegetable shortening
- ⅓ cup peanut butter, crunchy, plus ½ cup more for topping
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 2¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips, semisweet
- ½ cup peanut butter, crunchy
- 1½ cups corn flakes, slightly crushed
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, shortening, â…“ cup of peanut butter, vanilla, and egg; blend well.

Stir in flour and salt; mix well.

Press the dough into ungreased square cake pan.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until lightly golden brown.
- Cool slightly.

In a medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips over low heat.

Stir in the remaining peanut butter and corn flakes.
- Spread over slightly cooled base.

Cool slightly and cut into bars. Enjoy!
