Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • Steamed rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.

  2. Add the bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger to the wok and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until everything is coated in the sauce.

  4. Serve the stir-fry over steamed rice and garnish with thinly sliced green onions.
