How To Make Chinese Tofu and Scallion Pancakes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and crumbled
  • 4 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together crumbled tofu, sliced scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, ginger powder, and garlic powder.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together flour and salt. Slowly add hot water and stir until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes, then divide it into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a flat circle.

  4. Spoon a dollop of the tofu mixture onto each circle and fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges closed.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the pancakes until crispy and golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  6. Serve hot with soy sauce or hot sauce for dipping.
