How To Make Instant Pot Mongolian Beef Recipe

A savory and delicious beef dish with a sweet and spicy sauce, cooked to perfection in the Instant Pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss sliced beef with cornstarch until fully coated.

  2. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil. Brown beef in batches and remove.

  3. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.

  4. Add sauce to Instant Pot and stir in beef.

  5. Seal Instant Pot and set to high pressure for 10 minutes.

  6. Allow for natural pressure release for 5 minutes, then quick release remaining pressure.

  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve over rice.
