How To Make The Border Fish Tacos Recipe

Delicious tacos made with seasoned fish, fresh veggies, and a tangy lime crema sauce.

Ingredients

  • -1 lb. tilapia fillets
  • -1 tbsp olive oil
  • -2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • -8 small corn tortillas
  • -1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • -1 avocado, sliced
  • -1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • -1/2 red onion, sliced
  • -Lime wedges, for serving
  • For the Lime Crema Sauce:
  • -1/2 cup sour cream
  • -1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • -2 tbsp lime juice
  • -1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • -Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.

  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Brush each tilapia fillet with olive oil and sprinkle taco seasoning on both sides.

  4. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.

  5. While the fish is cooking, prepare the lime crema sauce by mixing together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  6. Heat the tortillas on a skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, or until warm and slightly toasted.

  7. To assemble the tacos, place a few pieces of cooked fish onto each tortilla, and top with cilantro, avocado, lettuce, red onion, and a spoonful of lime crema sauce.

  8. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
