How To Make Kermit’s Mirliton Casserole Recipe
A delicious casserole dish made with mirliton and seasoned shrimp, perfect for any Cajun-inspired meal.

Ingredients
- 2 mirlitons, peeled and diced
- 1 lb of small shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup of chopped onion
- 1/4 cup of chopped celery
- 1/4 cup of chopped bell pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of butter
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a skillet, sauté onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic until tender.

Add shrimp and cook until pink.

In a separate pot, cook mirliton until tender.

In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour until smooth.

Gradually stir in chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until thickened.

Add shrimp and vegetable mixture to pot of mirliton.

Pour mixture into a greased casserole dish.

Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and bake for 30-40 minutes until heated through and golden brown.
